Brooklyn Nets

Reason: Salary Dump/Possible starter

Even with their acquisition of Mozgov, the Nets still have space to take on a bad contract if it is attached to a strong asset. Sean Marks, GM, is making all the right moves for a team in their place.

If they can find a way to add more young assets then it is likely an avenue they will explore. Furthermore, being a big market team, the Nets will be a destination franchise once they start playing winning basketball again.

Philadelphia 76ers

Reason: Salary Dump

The 76ers have endless options. A clear example of this is that they are in the buyers and sellers section of this article (spoiler alert). Adding Markelle Fultz, to Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, the 76ers could be instantly relevant. However, they still have the most cap space in the league and can take on assets if they want. With Embiid’s health record leaving a lot to be desired, the 76s could want another competent backup to paid with Richaun Holmes.

As you can see, there are not a lot of teams looking to add a big man’s contract this offseason. Especially when you look at the number of teams looking to sell.
