The S is for South Beach

That’s Paul MillmTakingMyTalentstoSouthBeachAp to you.

Millsap could join the Denver Nuggets and presumably help them reach the postseason. The Kings could fling a bunch of money at him and he might consider joining a young squad that has a chance of finishing above the Hawks in the overall standings next season. Or….. he could join a fringe-playoff contender.

The Miami Heat finished the season on a  remarkable 30-11 run last season after starting 11-30. (Did you know that Erik Spoelstra wrote the foreword for A Tale of Two Halves by Charles Dickens? Er….) I think Spo was robbed for COTY, but I digress.

The Heat got nothing out of the 4 spot last season after the terrible news broke that Chris Bosh would miss the upcoming season due to medical complications. Don’t believe me?  The Heat went from getting Bosh’s 19.1 PPG from the 2015-16 season to getting 4.8 PPG from Luke Babbitt. The Heat could look to improve their starting 2 spot even if Waiters re-signs, but the bigger need is up front.

Dragic is a wizard in the pick and roll – and Millsap is an underrated ball handler and passer. Pick and rolls could be deadly if the two run plays for each other; and with the threat of Whiteside always rolling to the rim, whoever are the two remaining players on the floor better be shooters, because they’ll be feasting on wide open looks.

If you’re still not for this idea, let me put it this way:

ERIK SPOELSTRA WENT ON A 30-11 RUN WITH DION WAITERS, JAMES JOHNSON AND LUKE BABBITT IN THE STARTING LINEUP.
