The Boston Celtics have made a lot of changes this offseason, what will/should their 12 man rotation look like to start off the season?
NBA Training Camps open in mere weeks, and there are plenty of teams who will look a lot different than they did last season. Although, there’s no team out there that took more of a facelift this summer than the Boston Celtics.
With that in mind, let’s try to predict what the Celtics rotation will look like in 2017-18.

Starting Lineup:
Point Guard: Kyrie Irving
Shooting Guard: Jaylen Brown
Small Forward: Gordon Hayward
Power Forward: Markeif Morris
Center: Al Horford
This starting five just SCREAMS offensive firepower, and that is what Celtics coach Brad Stevens will have them bring. Kyrie, Hayward, Brown, and Horford are all offensive juggernauts. This will probably be one of the most efficient and high power offensives in the NBA come this season.
The defense will also be solid as the wings, Brown and Hayward, aren’t slouches on the defensive end. Morris and Horford as well can handle their own.
Bench:
Point Guard: Terry Rozier
Shooting: Marcus Smart
Small Forward: Jayson Tatum
Power Forward: Guerschon Yabusele
Center: Aron Baynes
Key role players: Abel Nader (Wing), Semi Ojeleye (Big),
This is probably one of the best defensive bench units in the NBA if not the best. Rozier and Smart on the perimeter are fantastic, and Yabo is a versatile, stretch-4 style defender. Tatum isn’t exactly the greatest defender, but the players around him will make him better. Baynes has a career DRTG of 104, which is very solid.
Nader and Semi are both athletic wings/bigs and can really play 2-4 coming off the bench. Both of them are fantastic role players and will definitely see time this season as Stevens works out some lineup kinks, especially early on.

All in all, the Bosotn Celtics are loaded, and might just have what it takes to get past the Cavs. If not though, they’re fine because everyone in this 12 is younger than 30, except Al Horford. Talk about a future in a Boston. Everything is finally coming to fulfillment. Boston fans should be very, very excited for what this upcoming season has in store.
