6th Man of the Year award pick…

Gonzalez: Eric Gordon –  This one is self-explanatory. Gordon’s only real competition for this award is Andre Iguodala and Jae Crowder, both I think have their chances shot in the foot for various reasons. Which means Gordon is all that is left! Eric had a great season last year, and while I don’t think he gets better, he doesn’t regress to an extent where he can’t win the award. I think this is a pretty safe bet for the 6MOY trophy.

Dunn: Eric Gordon. I hate to vote for the guy that won the award last season, but Gordon is set up for a repeat performance in 2017-18. A potent scorer off the bench for Houston, Gordon fits the stereotypical 6th man mold and is talented enough to start on a host of other teams. His role won’t change this season, and it might even get easier for him. Gordon’s best stretches will likely come when James Harden hits the bench and Chris Paul is running the offense.

Macri: It’s gone to a guard all but one time since 2005, and always someone on a 50-ish win team. That’s a narrow field. Is this finally the year Iggy gets it? It’s hard to see how he does something to make this season stand out from previous campaigns. Marcus Morris will probably play more than Aaron Barnes, the man starting ahead of him for the Celtics, and he’ll fill up the box score. He’s the pick.
