Detroit Pistons

What to be thankful for: Stan Van Gundy

It’s not exactly easy to explain, but the Detroit Pistons currently have a top 3 record in the Eastern Conference and no one can really explain it. And, in the NBA, when we can’t really explain results we usually point to the head coach.

That’s where Stan Van Gundy comes in. Even though this early pace from the Pistons isn’t exactly sustainable, Detroit is a good team. Not top 3 in the East good, but likely playoff good. It’s actually pretty amazing considering there were whispers of SVG on the hot seat just a few weeks before the season.

Funny how things can change so quickly.
