Washington Wizards: John Wall to miss 2 weeks with knee injury
Washington Wizards point guard John Wall expected to miss 2 weeks with knee injury
The Washington Wizards, at 11-8, have had an up and down start to the season as is, but now they’re going to have to find their footing without John Wall for the next couple of weeks.
The team announced Saturday that John Wall will undergo treatment on his injured knee which will force him to miss roughly two weeks.

"Following consultation with Dr. Richard D. Parker at the Cleveland Clinic Marymount and Wizards Head Team Physician Wiemi Douoguih, Wall will receive PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and viscosupplementation injections to reduce the inflammation in his left knee. He is expected to miss approximately two weeks."
Washington has lost three of its last four, with a hobbled Wall. During that stretch, Wall is averaging a solid 18 points, but is shooting a woeful 40 percent. On the season overall, Wall isn’t playing nearly as consistent and prolific as last season.
Still, Wall is averaging a solid 20 points, nine assists and three rebounds per contest. He’s also shooting 43 percent from the field and 32 percent from 3-point range.
If Wall misses exactly two weeks, that puts him out for at least eight games. Of those eight games, they play five “playoff” teams – Portland (twice), Philadelphia, Detroit and Minnesota. The other three teams aren’t no gimme’s either, with contests against the Suns, Clippers and Jazz.
Without Wall, the Wizards will need even more consistency from Bradley Beal and Otto Porter. They’ll also need Tim Frazier to play a few more minutes per night. Overall, though, the goal over the next couple of weeks is to simply survive.
Luckily for Washington, it’s early enough in the season where going 4-4 or 3-5 over the next eight games won’t cost them all that much. It would likely eliminate any hope in catching Boston for the top seed in the East, but I wouldn’t bet on anyone catching the red-hot Celtics at the moment anyways.

The Washington Wizards should focus on getting John Wall healthy. That should be priority No. 1 at the moment.
