Victor Oladipo is having a breakout year for the Indiana Pacers. Compared to last season in OKC, his play this year can easily get him to the all star game
This past summer was arguably the busiest offseason in the NBA in a very long time. There was one move in particular that shook up the league.
Indiana Pacers all star, Paul George, was dealt to Oklahoma City to pair up with the reigning MVP, Russell Westbrook. The basketball world went into a frenzy. Everyone loaded up their social media accounts and raved that Paul George in OKC was what Westbrook needed.
The Thunder had to give up was Damantas Sabonis and Victor Oladipo. The Pacers got worse while OKC transformed into a threat to the Golden State Warriors, right? Well, not so fast.

After a subpar season playing alongside Westbrook, Oladipo is embracing life in Indiana.
Last season, Oladipo and Westbrook was supposed to be the new 1-2 punch in OKC. Instead, though, every night in Oklahoma City became the “Russell Westbrook Triple-Double Show”.
Oladipo averaged 15.9 points and shot 42 percent from the field. Being the second fiddle to Westbrook, we all expected more from Oladipo – at least a higher efficiency rate. Playing with a ball dominant guard in Westbrook, it was tough to thrive in OKC.
A new atmosphere and perfect situation is what Oladipo needed. That’s exactly what he found in Indiana.
So far this season, Victor Oladipo is averaging 24.8 points, 1.8 blocks, 1.0 steal while shooting 48.3 from the field. He’s been at the forefront of Indiana’s 18-14 start to the season. The Pacers are also currently the 4th seed in the East.
Oladipo is scorching teams with his clutch play and fierce competitiveness. Being the number 1 option, Dipo gets to show the world how much of a special player he can be – and no one really saw this coming.
Indiana fans did not know who they were getting when Dipo arrived. When the trade went down this summer, the sports jumped to the conclusion that OKC easily won the trade. Early in the young season, it’s the other way around.

Nowadays, forgetting about Paul George has been easy for Pacer fans. If Dipo keeps this style of play, he can very well be named an all star for years to come. Basketball world, say hello to Victor Oladipo! Perhaps he has finally arrived.
