As LaVar Ball continues to be extremely vocal, the question lingers as to whether LeBron James and LaVar could coexist with the Los Angeles Lakers

On the surface, Lonzo Ball and LeBron James seem like a good, if not great, pairing.

LeBron has never really played with a true pass-first point guard. But a lead guard that could find him open and easy buckets without him having to drive or dribble the air out of the ball on a consistent basis seems like a great concept, especially with LeBron aging.

Interestingly, the Los Angeles Lakers have a boatload of money this summer. They could have enough money for two max slots, if they play their cards right leading up to free agency. LeBron, as everyone notes, is a free agent after the season.

And if LeBron falls short of winning an NBA Championship again in Cleveland, it could be time for a change of scenery. Many around the league believe that he will walk this summer if the Cavs fail to dethrone the Golden State Warriors, who will be heavy favorites regardless of who they play in the NBA Finals.

The LeBron to the Lakers stuff isn’t new. It’s a common theme that we’ve heard before, and we’ll likely hear again.

However, as the Lakers deal with their own internal problems, I can’t help but wonder if LaVar Ball is driving the probability of LeBron heading West down?

LeBron and LaVar have already had an exchange of words before this season, and they aren’t even associated with the same team. LeBron notoriously doesn’t stand for these kind of distractions; who does? The Lakers only have to because Lonzo Ball is too promising of a prospect.

Could you imagine the LeBron James-led Lakers falling into a four or five game losing streak, followed by LaVar Ball saying that the head coach had lost LeBron and the team – which is pretty much what LaVar is doing now, sans LeBron?

I don’t think it would go over well with LeBron’s camp, who like to control everything.

In fact, LeBron is smart enough that I don’t think he would even put himself in the position to let this happen. LeBron and his camp is historically calculated, as they should be. They map every move they make out prior to it happening.

Whether you want to believe it or not, LeBron orchestrated his move to Miami before the summer of 2010. Same for his return to Cleveland in 2014. I’m sorry, LeBron, but I have a hard time believing that you simply woke up on the day of The Decision and felt it was Miami.

LeBron knows what he’s doing this summer, in a way. I believe that LeBron has two options. One for if Cleveland wins the championship, and one for if they don’t.

And maybe one is to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. Although, I have a hard time believe that LeBron would sign with the Lakers as long as LaVar is as outspoken as he’s been this season.

LaVar Ball says he knows LeBron is going to sign with the Lakers this summer. Ironically, he might end up being the biggest reason why he doesn’t.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a LaVar Ball problem. And it could cost them LeBron James. I hope Lonzo Ball is worth it.
