NBA Rumors: Zach LaVine is set to make his season debut for the Chicago Bulls this weekend vs the Detroit Pistons
Reinforcements are on the way for the Chicago Bulls.
Zach LaVine is set to make his season debut for the Bulls Saturday against the Detroit Pistons, Bulls exec VP John Paxon told reporters. LaVine was a part of the draft day Jimmy Butler trade, which also netted Chicago the rights to Lauri Markkanen and Kris Dunn.
LaVine missed the second half of last season and the first half of this season while recovering from a torn ACL.

"[via Chicago Tribune]Bulls exec VP John Paxson said Zach LaVine will debut Saturday vs. Pistons.Paxson confirmed LaVine badly wanted to debut at Knicks. But said whole rehab process and communication has been seamless."
LaVine was averaging a career high 19 points per game last year with the Bulls before being sidelined by the knee injury. He was also shooting a career high 46 percent from the field and 39 percent from 3-point range.
At 22, expectations will be high for LaVine coming in. He will always be connected to the Butler trade and will have to live up to those said expectations if the Bulls are going to be remembered as the winners of the controversial draft day deal.
LaVine is an athletic wing that is a better shooter than he gets credit for. He leaves plenty to be desired on the defensive end, but more than makes up for it with his inhuman athletic ability.
LaVine will reportedly be on a 20 minute per night restriction and won’t play in back-to-backs initially but could after the NBA All-Star break, which is pretty natural for players coming off of major injuries.

The Chicago Bulls are currently 14-27, 13th in the Eastern Conference. It’s going to be interesting to see what type of impact that LaVine will have on this young squad, but there’s no question that he’s going to make this team a lot more fun.
