What will happen to DeAndre Jordan?

When the LA Clippers traded Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons last week, it was almost clear that the team was moving in a rebuilding direction. However, since, they’ve agreed to a three-year extension with Lou Williams and have hinted at the possibility that they could keep DeAndre Jordan beyond the trade deadline.

Question is, is that smoke or is there something to those whispers?

The Clippers could be trying to pick up the steam on the trade market surrounding Jordan, but it could also be a change in stance from them. Would it be the worse thing in the world for Jordan to possibly opt into the $24 million that he’s owed next season, assuming LA won’t be big players in free agency? As long as Jordan doesn’t opt out this summer, it could work out for both sides.
