13. Utah Jazz: Robert Williams PF/C Texas A&M

Big Board Rank: 15

Utah desperately needs a point guard, but they aren’t going to find one picking at 13 if the draft shakes up like this. The Jazz aren’t far out of the playoff race, and with Donovan Mitchell most likely only improving they probably take the safest pick here.

It’s crazy to think of Robert Williams as a safe pick, but with a lack of bench big men Williams fits a need. The Jazz shouldn’t be looking for anything more out of Williams than that. Just be a guy that the Jazz can plug in for 10-15 minutes a night to give Gobert a breather and still have some rim protection.

If Utah finds themselves in this situation they should probably just trade down but coming up with hypothetical trades along with making a mock draft is just doing way too much. Williams has been putting together some stronger showings with 4 blocks against both Kansas and Kentucky. Maybe with an improved motor he eventually becomes a guy that can get you buckets in transition running the floor, but that’s not a certain outcome.
