2018 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Michael Porter Jr., DeAndre Ayton top the class
By Connor Harr
8. Chicago Bulls: Mohamed Bamba C Texas
Big Board Rank: 6
If Mohamed Bamba falls to the Bulls at eight, every Bulls fan should be bouncing off the walls with excitement. Not only does Chicago get an elite talent, but they also get the perfect compliment to Lauri Markannen. Chicago desperately needs rim protection. The Bulls are currently averaging 3.8 blocks a game, there a three players in the league by themselves that averaging over 2 blocks a game.
Enter Mohamed Bamba the 7 foot rim protecting extraordinaire, with a 7’9″ wingspan. Bamba is currently averaging 4 blocks a game in 31 minutes at Texas. The Bulls as a team average 3.8 in 48 minutes. Bamba has a ton of offensive potential to match his elite rim protection. He’s developing a three point shot, and with a year or two in NBA strength training he’s going to be a force running to the hoop off a pick and roll.
