NBA Rumors: Indiana Pacers are expected to add Trevor Booker for the remainder of the season; how could he impact the team?

The Indiana Pacers have been one of the most interesting stories in the NBA this season, and appear destined for the playoffs.

After trading Paul George during the summer, the conversation dominated around this tam was not “if the Pacers would be bad this season,” it was “how bad they were going to be.” Roughly three quarters of the way through the regular season, the Pacers have proved otherwise.

Indiana is eight games over .500 and sitting in the 5th slot of the Eastern Conference, 1.5 games back o the 3rd-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers. Insane.

With that said, I think it’s safe to admit that Victor Oladipo is a star. He just need the right spot to breakout, and it appears that right spot was the Indiana Pacers. With that said, the Pacers are not done adding pieces to the puzzle.

According to Yahoo’s Shams Charania, the playoff-bound Indiana Pacers will be signing Trevor Booker, who was just waived by the Philadelphia 76ers, for the remainder of the season.

Booker has only appeared in 33 games this season with the Sixers, while averaging roughly seven points and five rebounds during those appearances. To say that he’s struggled during his time in Philly would be a bit unfair, and wouldn’t tell the entire story.

After coming off the best statistical season of his career, and keeping on pace at the start of this season, Booker never really found an ideal role with the Sixers – he was traded to Philadelphia as part of the Jahlil Okafor trade a few months ago.

Booker only averaging 15 minutes per contest with the Sixers. Booker is only 30 years old and could very well play a decent role with the Pacers. Perhaps it just didn’t work with the Sixers.
