Jontay Porter’s Overall Impression

Final Stat Line: 2 PTS, 6 REB, 5 Assists, 2 Blocks, 1 Steal, 1-7 FG, 0-4 3PT, 0-2 FT

Even though the announcer in this game ripped Jontay Porter to shreds I thought he had an awesome game. This was a good chance to see Jontay against high level NBA caliber athletes that Florida State always has.

He did a great job defending in this game, and his basketball IQ is phenomenal. Jontay might not be a crazy athlete, but he has defensive value because of how well he rotates defensively. Even though Jontay Porter probably won’t produce a ton of multiple block games he will alter a ton of shots.

His on ball defense against some of Florida States quicker forwards was impressive as well and shows he might not be complete liability defending on the perimeter.
