Sacramento gets cute with the No. 2 overall pick

This would be a typical Sacramento Kings move. They can’t just be happy with the fact that they landed the No. 2 overall pick, when they had no business selecting this high. They have to put their own little KANGZ twist to it. And it will come with some criticism, at the very least.

What am I saying with this prediction? Well, it’s simple. The Kings, after Deandre Ayton gets selected by the Phoenix Suns, are not going to take Luka Doncic. Even though he’s the consensus No. 2 overall prospect in the draft, Sacramento is not going to play it safe by selecting him. No. Nope. It’s never that simple for the Kings.

Instead of selecting Doncic, who would actually fit right into their current core, the Kings will probably take one of the bigs – either Marvin Bagley, Jaren Jackson Jr. or, which would perhaps be their worst option, Michael Porter Jr. If I had to guess, I’d predict Bagley.
