1. Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls

2017-18 Stats: 16.7 points, 3.9 rebounds

Zach LaVine is probably the only shooting guard in this year’s free agency class that is in line to get offered a max contract. The big questions with LaVine, though is whether or not it’ll come from the Chicago Bulls or not.

The Bulls received LaVine as part of the package that was involved in the Jimmy Butler trade. In a way, Chicago has to re-sign LaVine. If not, it would look terrible to their fans. On the other hand, the Bulls can’t will nilly hand out max contracts to players just because they’re young and have the ability to be really good.

LaVine has shown flashes of his potential over the last few seasons, but his recent injury is a big concern. Major knee injuries are nothing to overlook, especially to a player that relies so much on his athletic ability. The talent is there for LaVine; no one has ever questioned that.
