DeMarcus Cousins, Golden State Warriors

DeMarcus Cousins was looked at as one of the games top centers but after suffering an Achilles injury this past season his market dried up quickly.

After the New Orleans Pelicans pulled their offer to him, it was apparent he was going to be with a new team in 2018-19 but that’s when the unthinkable happened. One of the league’s best big man couldn’t find a significant offer worth signing and because of that he decided to sign with the defending champions, the Golden State Warriors, for $5.3 million.

It was a significant drop from the two-year $40 million the Pelicans initially offered him.

Not only does Cousins need to prove that he is able to bounce back from his Achilles injury and be the same – or a somewhat similar- player, but he also needs to show that his attitude can be controlled.

The Warriors are one of the league’s best organizations and should Cousins have a good season and fully buy into the team’s culture, don’t be surprised if next season Cousins has a ton more suitors.
