Will the Miami Heat continue to live in mediocrity?

Over the last decade, the Miami Heat have become one of the elite franchises in all the land. However, over the last couple of seasons they’ve been just OK. And frankly, that’s not something that we’re used to seeing. Especially now with Pat Riley in the fold.

They’re currently in salary cap hell for the next two seasons, and don’t have a team capable of finishing higher than 5th (at best) in a weak Eastern Conference. The expectation is that they would try and move some pieces around to make a run in free agency either this season or next.

None of that happened. And there have been little-to-no real transactions since the summer started.

The Heat, whether you’re willing to admit it or not, are the definition of mediocre right now. They’re NBA purgatory. And in order to get out they’ll either have to trade away out or stay in this hell for the next two seasons.

Something tells me Riley will try to make a move sooner rather than later.
