NBA: Ranking every team’s starting backcourt heading into 2018-19
24. Patrick Beverley, Avery Bradley – LA Clippers
If you’re looking for a strong defensive backcourt, look no further than what the Los Angeles Clippers have compiled over the last couple of seasons. The Clippers may not have the biggest of names in their starting backcourt, they have some battlers.
Patrick Beverley is as good as they come on the defensive end, and is a lot better than he gets credit for on the offensive end. He’s small in frame, but doesn’t back down from any opponent. Avery Bradley is much of the same.
On the offensive end, he’s more of a spot-up shooter and slasher. Just two years ago, when he was with the Boston Celtics, he was considered one of the best two-way players in the NBA. The talent is clearly there.
