Dallas Mavericks

Dennis Smith Jr.

Many thought that we were going to see Dennis Smith Jr. pop off the screen as a rookie for the Dallas Mavericks, but even though he did flash at times he had a pretty ordinary (shooting-wise) first season in the NBA.

And that’s where I believe his biggest jump will be this season, efficiency-wise. DSJ did average 15 points a year ago. With the additions of DeAndre Jordan and Luka Doncic, I’m not sure if he’s going to make a big jump there, but where he can is in his shooting splits.

Last season, DSJ shot 40 percent from the field and just 31 percent from 3-point range. Simple efficiency will do so much for the Mavericks and his numbers.
