27. Phoenix Suns (1-4)
I don’t think anyone would argue that Deandre Ayton has been good this season, and that the Phoenix Suns were right by taking with the first overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. However, this team is still a ways away.
Perhaps now we know why this team wanted to add a veteran starting point guard in order to keep this team in line. They have talent, but haven’t been able to put it all together. Devin Booker looks better than he was last season, which should be encouraging, but he can’t do it alone. Which as been the case for the last couple of years.
The fortunes of the Suns will eventually change, but just don’t expect it to come this season unless the team could pull of a trade for a veteran star.
