Atlanta Hawks

Record: 5-17

Grade: C+

The Atlanta Hawks get a passing grade for a number of reasons. For one, this is a team that many expected to be the worst team in the NBA. Through the first quarter of the season, they’re not the worst team in the NBA.

Secondly, they might have hit on Trae Young, their first round pick from the 2018 NBA Draft. Through the first quarter of the season, Young is averaging 16 points, eight assists and three rebounds per game on 38 percent shooting from the field and 25 percent from 3-point range.

Even though he continues to struggle with his shot, the hope is that will come with time as he continues to adjust to the NBA. The Hawks may finish with one of the three worst records in the NBA, but they have a few nice young pieces on their roster.
