Sacramento Kings: Not trade future flexibility for faux playoff hope this year

In the Western Conference, the Sacramento Kings have been one of the other great surprises of the NBA this season. However, I don’t think that this team should fall in love with their solid start to the season.

Even though the team is only a half game out of the final playoff spot in the West, the Kings shouldn’t be buyers at the NBA Trade Deadline in an attempt to make a last ditch effort for a playoff run. Less so if it’s going to cost them future flexibility.

This team is fine, there’s no rush. They have made strides this season and if it doesn’t result in a playoff berth there’s nothing to be ashamed of. The last thing this team needs is to make another false hope heave in exchange for future assets of cap space.
