Charlotte Hornets: Re-signing Kemba Walker during the summer
It’s no secret: The Charlotte Hornets want to re-sign Kemba Walker. And with the way that he’s played this season, it actually wouldn’t be a bad idea after all. Walker is averaging a career high 25 points, four rebounds and six assists on 43 percent shooting from the field and 35 percent from 3-point range.
Even though the Hornets are not in a great spot when it comes to their salary cap situation, they’re actually out of it after next season. If they can keep Walker for the foreseeable future, they’ll be able to rebuild around him during the summer of 2020.
It might be a big gamble, but Walker is proving that he can be a core player in today’s NBA, which caters to a more guard-oriented roster construction.
