Anthony Davis gets traded to the Los Angeles Lakers
On July 1, the New Orleans Pelicans are expected to offer Anthony Davis the supermax extension that would keep him with the franchise for much of his remaining prime years. However, assuming that the Pelicans miss the playoffs this year (which is looking more and more like it’ll happen), I don’t think he’s going to sign the extension.
And if that happens during the summer, the team will have no other option than to begin the bidding war for one of the best players in the NBA. At that point, it’s only a matter of where Davis would land.
And, from everything that we’ve heard over the last few weeks, I firmly believe that the team that will trade for Davis is going to be the Los Angeles Lakers. And this is the blueprint for LeBron getting one more ring.
Having the opportunity to add a talent at the level of Anthony Davis only comes available once a decade, if that, and the Lakers need to make sure they play this game the right now.
