Minnesota Timberwolves

After moving Jimmy Butler a couple of months ago, there’s no question that the Minnesota Timberwolves are back to the drawing board. And as they are back at square one, they’re now looking for the second piece to build around Karl-Anthony Towns.

For some reason, the verdict is still out on Andrew Wiggins. But it’s growing more and more likely that he’s not going to be the superstar that many expected him to be when he was drafted No. 1 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Maybe the Wolves would be willing to invest into DSJ and bet that he can develop into the No. 2 guy next to KAT? It would help even more if they could find a team or two that could help take a contract or two off the Wolves’ sheet.

Because of their complicated cap situation, a third team would almost have to be involved to make it happen, but that’s not something that can’t be worked out.

Dennis Smith Jr., if indeed on the trade block, is going to be a hot commodity. Even more so if the Mavs are indeed determined to move him before the NBA Trade Deadline.
