Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards have been somewhat better since John Wall went down with a season-ending injury, but the team is going to be hard-pressed to make a full recovery and qualify for the NBA Playoffs this season. Even if the weaker Western Conference.
With that said, it might be the perfect time for a bit of a reset for the Wizards. And while it would make the most sense to try and move a player like John Wall, who might be one of the bigger issues inside that locker room, it’s not realistic. For one, he’s out for the season. And two, his huge contract makes him almost unmovable.
Wall’s supermax will kick in next season, and he’s slated to make an average of $40 million over the next four seasons. That’s why it opens the door for a Bradley Beal trade. He’s probably the most valuable asset (considering his age and contract) on the roster, anyways, and would be able to land a huge return for him on the open market.
Again, it would take a huge offer but it wouldn’t be all that surprising for the Wizards to open trade talks and try to salvage what feels like a bleak future.
