3. Los Angeles Lakers
What an offer would look like:
Pelicans Get: Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, first-round pick
Lakers Get: Anthony Davis
Assuming that the Los Angeles Lakers are all-in on acquiring Anthony Davis, rather than waiting to get him in 2020, they could create quite a package for the perennial all-star. And it would no question begin with Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball, the team’s two best assets on the roster.
The Lakers would need to throw in a salary filler, such as KCP, to make it all work all around and a pick would be a sweetener. Los Angeles would get their guy, even though it would gut the depth of their roster for this season.
But that’s something I don’t think LeBron James would mind. After all, if he’s going to make a deep playoff run this season – or even next – he’s going to need a lot more than Ingram, Ball and Kyle Kuzma.
On the other hand, the Pelicans would get three really nice young building blocks for the future, and restart the rebuild on the right foot.
