2019 NBA Draft: 20 prospects to watch during the NCAA Tournament
By Tobi Altizer
Grant Williams, Forward, Tennessee (#24 Ranked Prospect)/Admiral Schofield, Forward, Tennessee (#39 Ranked Prospect)
Tennessee has turned into one of the best teams in the nation. It’s two biggest stars, Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield, look ready for a good tournament before heading to the NBA Draft.
Grant Williams has had a great junior season for the Volunteers. He averaged 19.0 points on 56.5 percent shooting while also grabbing 7.6 rebounds. He has shown a great inside game and a good mid-range game as well.
Williams lacks great athleticism which may turn some teams away. He is a bit undersized as well, but he plays a bigger than his frame. He is a hard-worker which could help him find more playing time early in his NBA career.
Williams running mate Admiral Schofield is another interesting NBA prospect. He has had a great senior season. Schofield averaged 16.2 points and 6.1 rebounds. He is a good shooter and many teams will like his size. While he isn’t exceptionally tall at 6-foot-6, he is a solid 241 pounds which will make him a force inside and on the boards.
Schofield could be a solid wing in the NBA. Some question his ability to finish in traffic and his playmaking ability. He has great size and is another tough, high-energy guy. He should find a place where he can carve out a role for himself.
Tennessee is good and Williams and Schofield will play a major role in their success in the tournament. They both are great college players, but it will be interesting to see how well they fit in the NBA.
