15. Miami Heat – Rui Hachimura, F, Gonzaga
Earlier this season, Rui Hachimura was quickly rising up NBA Draft boards, right around the time his Gonzaga Bulldogs pulled off the upset of the Duke Blue Devils. However, since then, that trend has somewhat cooled.
That will favor a team like the Miami Heat, who in this case are able to snag a potential difference-maker like Hachimura with the 15th pick. Hachimura isn’t exactly a star waiting to happen, but he is the type of player that every team needs.
He can do the ugly work and still be valuable when you need him to be. He’s the epitome of Heat culture and would fit right in with the Heat. He could help fill the void that James Johnson left (I know he’s still on the team, but he’s been bad) left.
