Cameron Johnson PF, North Carolina

Cameron Johnson is currently ranked just behind Herro at 21st overall in ESPN’s draft rankings. Johnson is a player who wont wow you with a lot of fancy dribbling or athletic dunks, but will be one of the more consistent scorers in the entire tournament.

Johnson can light it up from behind the arc and with North Carolina’s up-tempo style of play, don’t be surprised if he has multiple high scoring games in this tournament as well. Johnson is shooting 46.5 percent from 3 this season which has him climbing NBA Draft Boards and making him an interesting player to watch this year in March Madness.

Shamorie Ponds PG, St. John’s

Shamorie Ponds is currently ranked at 46 in ESPN’s draft rankings. Cinderella teams are always exciting to watch in the tournament and if St. John’s is able to win a game or two in this tournament it will be because of ponds and it will definitely make for a good Cinderella story.

Ponds has the ability to score in bunches, averaging 19.5 point per game this season. Him having a couple high scoring games and St. John’s coming away with a couple of upsets could create one of the more exciting storylines of the tournament and really boost Ponds’ draft stock.

The St. John’s vs. Arizona State first round matchup is a game you will not want to miss and Ponds is a big reason why it should be one of the more exciting first round games.
