Los Angeles Lakers: 5 coaching candidates better than Ty Lue or Jason Kidd

Even though there’s a chance we may have seen the last of him in the NBA, Stan Van Gundy might be the best possibly coach that doesn’t currently have a job right now. He might’ve underwhelmed during his time with the Detroit Pistons, but there’s no question that he has one of the brightest NBA minds.

He’s also a guy that LeBron would probably respect, considering he’s been in the game for decades. He’s battled against him and knows that SVG has the championship pedigree. The real holdup revolves around whether SVG would actually be interested in making a return to the sideline.

Right now, that’s not a forgone conclusion that he would. He’s currently working for ESPN, and has a weekly co-hosting gig with the Dan Le Batard Show. Would he trade that comfort for another shot at a ring? With LeBron, it’s hard seeing him pass that possibility up.
