NBA Mock Draft 2.0: Ja Morant continues to rise; Cam Reddish falls

3. Phoenix Suns – R.J. Barrett, F, Duke

At No. 3, the Phoenix Suns run into a little trouble. Of course, the ideal pick would be a point guard here. However, with Morant just being taken by the Cavs, the Suns are left with taking the best talent still on the board and that would none other R.J. Barrett.

While many will suggest that Barrett had a disappointing year at Duke, he’s still supremely talented and it would be an absolute crime if he were to fall out of the top 3 in this year’s NBA Draft. Phoenix gobbles him up at 3.

The hope would be that Barrett and Devin Booker could create a dynamic duo, the one that this team has been desperately needing for the past few seasons. There are some real concerns in Barrett’s game, but not enough to scare teams away all that much.
