The Minnesota Timberwolves could use a true center to stick next to Karl-Anthony Towns in the lineup, and there might not be a better prospect to select at this point in the NBA Draft than Texas-product Jaxson Hayes.
Hayes didn’t have the most productive freshman seasons at Texas but showed the ability to be a great defender and rebound at a high rate. His offense is still very much a work in progress and will be the biggest reason why he won’t play big minutes initially, but he has the ability to be a real game-changer on the other end of the floor.
Hayes is another intriguing prospect that the Wolves could add to this young core. And if he works out, could be a very good player down the road.
