The Memphis Grizzlies were at a bit of a crossroad, much like the Pelicans, and landing the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft is a nice little gift that will help ease the rebuild for the franchise.
At this spot, it’s almost a foregone conclusion that the Grizzlies will take Ja Morant who has quickly taken control of the second overall spot on most team’s big boards. Morant is a dynamic guard that has all the looks of a future star in the league. The big question, however, is whether or not this team will move Mike Conley before or after selecting Morant, or keep him on for the ride as somewhat of a mentor.
After selecting Morant, the Grizzlies will have a nice young 1-2 punch in Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. The future is looking bright for the Grizzlies.
