Taking a closer look at five huge questions that remain after Kevin Durant’s Achilles injury, and how it will impact the rest of the NBA

After a valiant effort in the final three minutes of Game 5, the Golden State Warriors did just enough to edge out the Toronto Raptors on the road and force a Game 6. However, after what transpired just minutes into the second quarter, the win had a sense of hollowness.

Kevin Durant entered Game 5, by all accounts, as the hero that was going to save the day for the Warriors. Down 3-1, Durant was surely the only thing that could save the sinking Warriors. Then, it all changed – again. Not just the NBA Finals. Not just the Warriors’ construct. But the entire league.

Durant went down with what is believed to be an Achilles injury – one that will likely keep him out of action until the 2020-21 season. He is scheduled for an MRI Tuesday that the team believes will confirm their fears.

So what impact will Kevin Durant’s injury have on the rest of the league? Here are five big questions that explain just that.
