Will this impact the way future injuries are handled?

Now that we’re beginning to hear about what really was going on behind closed doors regarding this recent injury to Kevin Durant, I can’t help but begin to think about how this injury – and the way that it was handled – will impact future injuries.

Perhaps this is why Kawhi Leonard lost faith in the San Antonio Spurs last season – when he believes he wasn’t ready to play but was being pressured by the organization. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw more players take a more defensive stance when it comes to returning from injury.

Maybe this was a freak accident and something that perhaps an injury that doctors didn’t deem possible, but there’s no question that this will be on the minds of injured players in the future that are being pressured to play by either their teammates, the coaching staff or upper management.
