Let’s not forget how the injury to Kevin Durant could impact what happens with Kyrie Irving during free agency too. For the better part of the last few months, Kyrie and Durant have been viewed as a package when it comes to landing one or both the free agents – whether it was the Knicks, Nets or even the Clippers.

However, now that Durant will be out all of next season, that could change. If Durant elects to remain with the Warriors – one way or another – would that change the way teams pursuit Kyrie? Will it give the Celtics a better chance to re-sign him?

Will Kyrie want to wait a summer too, if Durant elects to opt into the final year of his contract with the Warriors?
