Should KD opt-in?

Despite all the noise that will go on over the next few weeks, there’s a huge financial decision that Kevin Durant and his camp need to make. And that’s whether he should opt into the final year of his contract with the Warriors, or hit free agency.

Does KD want to do this free agent circus all over again next season, while (possibly) not participating in any real basketball activities? Or would he rather sign a long term deal – with the Warriors or wherever else he wants to be – in an attempt to put his future at rest and secure his money.

It’s a tough question for all parties involved, not just for the teams expecting to court Durant. This is not an injury that every player bounces back from. For the most part, Achilles injuries have been the most devastating injury that a basketball player can suffer.
