NBA: One way each team can improve next season
Philadelphia 76ers – Retain the same team as last season
The Philadelphia 76ers were just one improbably Kawhi Leonard buzzer-beater away from their first NBA Finals appearance since 2001. Luck didn’t fall their way, but the Sixers have one of the best teams in the league on paper. Philly ‘Trusted the Process’ by drafting All-Stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons who are both still on their rookie contracts.
The 76ers also traded for star players Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris last season, further solidifying their dominance in the Eastern Conference. However, both Butler and Harris are free agents this summer and if Philly is unable to bring them back next year, they might be in some trouble.
Thanks to the still-in-progress rookie deals the Sixers have enough cap room to sign both players long-term. If they are able to bring those guys back and run it back with the same squad as last year, they’ll have one of the best shots at winning an NBA championship.
