Indiana signing Brogdon

While the Indiana Pacers had a great offseason, there was one move that they made that could be questioned. And that was the signing of Malcolm Brogdon, from the Bucks. Even though Brogdon had an extremely impressive season with the Bucks, in which he shot 50 percent from the field, 43 percent from 3-point range and 93 percent from the free-throw line, it will be awfully difficult for him to live up to his new contract.

Brogdon inked a four-year, $85 million deal with the Pacers, to act as Victor Oladipo‘s running mate in the backcourt. While it’s good news that he doesn’t have the be the lead man, there’s still no guarantee that he’ll be able to play the role of second fiddle.

And that’s my biggest concern when I look at this contract. The fit is great. However, when I hear the name Malcolm Brogdon, I’m not sure I believe he’s worth $20-plus million per season.
