Miami Heat

Key additions: Jimmy Butler, Myers Leonard, Tyler Herro

Key subtractions: Josh Richardson, Hassan Whiteside

After swimming around mediocrity for the good part of the last four years, the Miami Heat entered the 2019 NBA offseason with a goal in mind – to break out of that mediocrity that had plagued them.

So far so good. Even without cap space, the Heat managed to make waves in free agency by completing a sign-and-trade for Jimmy Butler. In the process, they lost Josh Richardson, a talented young wing, and also managed to cut loose of Hassan Whiteside.

There’s still a chance that the Heat make another move before the start of the season, but even if they stand pat it’s been a successful summer.
