13. San Antonio Spurs

Marquee summer move: Re-signing Rudy Gay

It’s easy to see the San Antonio Spurs ranked at No. 13 and laugh. However, this is a team that nearly knocked off the Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs last season. They lost in Game 7, but any team coached by Gregg Popovich is always a threat to pull off an upset of you when it matters most.

And, let’s not forget, the Spurs will be welcoming back Dejounte Murray, who missed all of last season due to injury. DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge are still in the fold, too, and the Spurs always find a way to get in the mix.

The Spurs might not be a clear Western Conference contender, and will probably be competing for one of the final playoff spots, but this is not a team that should be overlooked. This team is always well-coached and as solid as they come.
