Tier 5 – Sure, I’ll take a flier

Evan Fournier, Orlando Magic (Player Option)

Nicolas Batum, Charlotte Hornets (Player Option)

Dario Saric, Minnesota Timberwolves (Restricted)

Allen Crabbe, Atlanta Hawks (Unrestricted)

Kris Dunn, Chicago Bulls (Restricted)

Taurean Prince, Brooklyn Nets (Restricted)

We open our first tier with players that perhaps might not be at the top of any team’s free agency wishlist, but players that are promising enough to take a flier on. Most of the players at this tier, at one point or another during their career, flashed at least some potential. Enough that teams should definitely take a shot.

These are players that could have a hard time in securing a big-money deal, and could be more in line for a “prove-it” type deal that we’ve seen many players sign over the course of the last few seasons, hoping to defer their “real” free agency until the summer of 2021 or 2022. Of course, the only real problem with that is attempting to not be overshadowed by the big names next summer.

Nevertheless, these are players that barely make our top five tier list of projected free agents for the 2020 NBA offseason.
