The Phoenix Suns are a playoff team

The Phoenix Suns have started off this season significantly better than anyone expected. They were slated, by most people, as once again a bottom-five team in the NBA. However, in the first month of the season, they have looked far from the bottom five.

The Suns are currently 8-8 and are sitting at the 7-seed in the tough Western Conference. Obviously it’s still really early in the season but the Suns have looked good. Aron Baynes and Frank Kaminsky have performed admirably in the absence of Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker is having the most efficient year of his career by far.

With that being said, the Suns have had a fairly easy and home-heavy schedule to start this season and it’s only going to get more difficult from here. Not to mention, teams like Portland, Sacramento, and San Antonio have all started slow and good still fight for a playoff spot in the West.

The only hope for Pheonix is if they can play .500-level basketball until Ayton returns. In addition to that, once Ayton comes back he’ll need to look as dominant as he looked in his first and only game of this 2019 season.

Decision: DEAD-END
