Jabari Parker found a role in the league

This former No. 2 overall pick who was compared to Carmelo Anthony upon entering the NBA has looked far from that in his first five NBA seasons. But he has looked very good to start his 6th.

Parker is currently averaging 17.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game with respectable shooting splits. He has filled the John Collins roll admirably since his suspension and appears to have found his role in the NBA.

I think it’s pretty obvious the Parker will never be Carmelo Anthony and probably won’t even make an all-star team but he can still be a solid starting power forward on a good team. Parker’s pick and roll ability are one of the best in the game.

The only he needs to do is continue to work on his 3-point shot and defense, and he could be a really good 3rd or 4th option on a championship level team. While Carmelo Anthony may not be the greatest comparison for Parker, I think an attainable comparison would be someone like his teammate John Collins.
