1. Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia
Best fit: Minnesota Timberwolves
Considering that both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are pretty much *set* at the guard positions, Anthony Edwards would probably make a lot more sense on a team like the Minnesota Timberwolves. Even though the team just traded for D’Angelo Russell, adding Edwards would create one of the NBA’s most dynamic offensive backcourts.
During his lone season at George, Edwards averaged 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists on 40 percent from the field. While he could improve some of his efficiency stats, there’s no question that Edwards is a complete scorer of the basketball. He also has improved to make on the defensive end, but what rookie doesn’t?
Even though the Wolves have been massively disappointing over the last few years, if they were to land a top two or three pick – or even No. 1 overall – could very well change the trajectory of this franchise.
And Edwards, Russell, and Karl-Anthony Towns would be quite the trio.
