Ingram is just 22 years old
Perhaps the most intriguing part about the potential of Brandon Ingram is the fact that he’s still just 22 years old. Even though it feels like he’s been in the league forever, he hasn’t even reached the ceiling on the player that he could be. He made a big jump from his third year to his fourth year, and the Pelicans should take the gamble on him making additional improvement heading into his fifth NBA season.
Add in the fact that he won’t have the pressure of the entire franchise on him and it could make him that much more dangerous as a developing star. Zion will almost certainly take most of the pressure off of him and should make playing next to him easier with the double teams that he naturally creates in the offensive system.
Ingram will continue to grow as a player and it appeared that he finally found a comfort level in his game with the Pelicans. It would make no sense for the team to simply take that away prematurely.
