NBA: Ranking the top duos from the 2019-20 season
6. Nikola Jokic/Jamal Murray, Denver Nuggets
Combined stats: 39 points, 14 rebounds, 12 assists
As somewhat of the forgotten contender in the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets are a team that should not be overlooked much longer. The Nuggets are probably the team most likely to beat one of the Los Angeles contenders in the Western Conference in the playoffs, and most people can’t even name more than two of their players.
Not anymore. No more excuses. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray help create one of the league’s most impressive duos, as Jokic is one of the most versatile big men in the league and Jamal Murray is straight cold-blooded. Murray is the team’s perimeter sharpshooter and crunchtime scorer, while Jokic helps do a little of it all on the offensive end.
Even though he leaves much to be desired on the defensive end, he’s too valuable of an asset on the offensive end to not be considered one of the best bigs in the league right now. Murray continues to develop and is only going to get better.
The Nuggets might not be as sexy of a team as some of the other contenders in the West, but they can play with any team in the NBA.
