To keep Beal or to move him?

During the absence of John Wall, Bradley Beal has been sensational for the Washington Wizards. He’s been everything that they need in a No. 1 option and has lived up to every dollar that the team is paying and scheduled to pay him over the next few seasons. However, there’s a real decision that this franchise needs to make.

Is Beal enough to get this team back to the playoffs? Or does the team really believe that John Wall is going to take this team to the next level? Coming off an Achilles injury, that’s not a fair expectation. Wall is slated to return next season, but who knows what he’s going to look like after such an injury.

Can he be a No. 2 option? If that’s the plan, then at least it makes some sense. You can have Beal take the lead and then Wall fill in the rest. But what if Wall isn’t even that at this point in his career after the injury?

That’s when it gets messy. That’s when trading Beal isn’t too insane. Moving Beal for a full set of assets doesn’t sound terrible when the alternative is just a bottom 3 playoff team in the Eastern Conference.
